You must be able to read, write and speak English clearly. Other languages are an asset, but not a requirement.
You will need to be comfortable using computers.
You have to be in good physical condition. (be on your feet most of your shift, climb bunk beds repeatedly and walk multiple flights of stairs on a regular basis).
You must be capable of preforming your duties with little or no supervision.
You are legally entitled to work in Canada (Canadian citizen / Permanent resident or in possession of a valid open work Visa)
You must have a willingness and desire to give our guests the best experience possible.
Attitude is more important to us than experience, we are happy to teach you all you need to know.
Check-in/out of guests staying at the hostel.
Managing bookings and data entry.
Cleaning hostel rooms and common areas.

On occasion, you may be required to be a substitute manager. This will require being on call and available 24 hours a day. This will normally be done only during the scheduled absences of key personnel and usually only happens a few times a year. You will be compensated differently during these events, the details will be explained during the interview process.
$12 per hour to start, your wage will be re-evaluated at the end of the probation period.
No cost accommodation is included, which makes this position ideal for someone beginning an adventure away from home or who has a Canada International Work Experience Visa.
You will have the opportunity to participate in adventures around the area. Such as hiking, off-roading, hot springs, camping trips, etc.
